About Me
Comprehensive dental hygiene is much more than just “teeth cleaning.” It is a set of preventive and therapeutic procedures aimed at removing all impurities from the tooth surfaces, interdental spaces, and the gum sulcus—areas that a regular toothbrush cannot reach.
Thorough oral examination: assessment of oral hygiene level, gum condition (bleeding, inflammation), presence of tartar and plaque, and the condition of fillings and prosthetic work.
Plaque removal: a soft, sticky film made of bacteria and food debris, which is the main cause of tooth decay and gum inflammation.
Tartar removal: mineralized (hardened) plaque that cannot be removed by regular brushing. It occurs both above the gum line (supragingival) and below it (subgingival) and irritates the gums, leading to inflammation and gradual recession.
Stain removal: discoloration caused by coffee, tea, red wine, smoking, or certain foods.
Polishing: smoothing the tooth surface with a special paste to prevent plaque buildup and give teeth a natural shine.
Fluoridation: application of fluoride gel or varnish to strengthen enamel and increase resistance to acids produced by plaque bacteria.
Instruction and motivation: training in proper brushing technique, recommendations for suitable tools (toothbrushes, interdental brushes, floss, mouthwash), and personalized advice for effective home care.
At Dobrý Dent, we perform all these procedures with maximum care using modern equipment such as ultrasonic scalers and airflow systems, ensuring high efficiency while being gentle on dental tissues.
